Candle Care
1. Trim the Wick
Before each burn, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch. This helps maintain a steady flame and prevents excessive soot. You can use a wick trimmer or simply pinch off the blackened tip with your fingers.
2. Light It Right
To light your candle, hold a match or lighter at the base of the wooden wick for about 10 seconds. It may take a couple of tries—wood wicks are a little temperamental at first.Let your candle burn for 2–3 hours (or until the entire surface has melted) to form a full melt pool. This helps prevent tunneling and extends the life of your candle.
💡 Pro Tip: The first burn is crucial—it sets the wax “memory,” ensuring an even burn each time.
3. Burn with Care
Never leave a burning candle unattended or place it near drafts, pets, or children. For safety and optimal performance, don’t burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a stretch.
4. Know When to Say Goodbye
Once only 1/4 inch of wax remains, it’s time to retire the candle. Burning beyond this point may cause the jar to overheat or crack.
5. Repurpose the Jar
Give your candle jar a second life! Here’s how to clean it out:
~Carefully pour boiling water into the jar.
~Chill it in the fridge for about 2 hours.
~The remaining wax will float to the top—press gently to remove.
~Discard the water and remove the wick tab.
~Wash the jar with soap and warm water—and it's ready to be reused!
